Cutting the umbilical cord...(Taster day 28/03/14)

Literally, I'm sobbing! Where does the time go? I can't believe that my baby has his taster day today. Well, we signed him down to join this summer term in early years which to start soon after the Easter break. I'm so not ready I tell you. Right now, I'm feeling so miserable. It's pathetic, right? But I can't help it. Being on my own is not helping either, I'd wish anabs is here to comfort me. I'm seriously counting the minutes to pick him up. If only  I could freeze time. But the excitement of his face when I dropped him off only proves that he is ready for it. I expect him to make a fuss soon as I say I'll see him later but he didn't. In fact he happily wave goodbye and smiled. I'm proud and happy at the same time sad that my baby is all grown up. Anyway, I'm sure I'm not alone and most mothers can relate with me in this moment of reality. Sorry for this heavy drama though...xx😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😢😂😂😂😂😢😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

The 'no' teacher in me...

can never be a teacher and that's a fact! It's a very challenging job that requires a lot of patience. And I don't have that, even a bit. I don't know what's wrong with me but teaching my kids has never been a success. They end up crying most of the time and that's because I have no capacity of praising them in their little achievements. I somehow forgot that they are only kids. Like right now, with my youngest as we started our tutoring session of the day, he's already crying because he don't want to do it. Tutoring them has become a battle. The thing is, when I'm too soft they don't listen and when I'm too hard they cry and end up so upset. So glad that education here starts as young as 3/4 years old. And so, my youngest is soon to join at early years and as much as I want to keep him home I think he's better off learning at school. Being perfectionist does not help either! Don't get me wrong I don't let them study more than 30 minutes a day. Not even everyday only whenever we are in the mood. And I notice that they'll lost interest even before we will start. With my little one, I am trying my best to be more patience, understanding and a less of a nag and I can see the difference, he is learning better even if we only do 10-25 minutes a week. The reason why I'm seriously teaching my youngest this time it's because he starts school later than his big sister and big brother, Yes, my older two both started as early as 2 and a half. So, Will has a little more to catch up with his soon-to-be classmates. Anyway, here's his little achievement so far. He can write his numbers, recognised and count up to 100. He can also write his first name, and know and write all letters in the alphabet. Well, I'd be more generous if I say that he is learning the addition up to 10 but we are trying and he can do it with a bit of help. But I think it is way beyond his age. He can certainly do the Phoenics sound but can't read yet, only recognises some words. Well, I am proud and always will. And I'm also proud to say, that both of my older two are doing so well at school even with my unsuccessful tutoring at start. And yes my husband is right, there is no need to push them too hard just to be ahead of their classmates, kids learn at their own pace of time. Kudos to the teacher and to the school! It's a money well spent! xx

Foggy days we had this month...

It may crazy as it sounds but I actually love foggy days. I find it just as pretty and cool like the sunshine. Of course, I know that it is a nightmare to all drivers out there. But the fact is, I see beauty in most things. Or am I just too optimistic? Here's the series of photos I took last week and tell me if these aren't pretty. 😉❤️❤️❤️

A week of Sunshine...

Earlier this month we had a week of beautiful weather, all sunny and dry. But I knew that after few days of sunshine comes the wet and gloomy days again. That is why we always take every opportunity of the dry weather to have fun. Enjoy while it last, right? Yes we did and we even had a trip to the nearby beach. Look, how blue the sky is! We seldom get this kind of weather out of 365 days, lol. Like money, I always wish for more (because we don't have/get many days like this.) 😉😜 xx

Throwback Thursday (at Leonardslee Garden..)

Summer 2007 and also our advance wedding anniversary...@Leonardslee Garden.

It was one of the finest day in England and we spent it at this beautiful garden. That day we also spy a couple who just got engaged. We saw the man proposing to his girlfriend kneeling at not so far away. I quickly grabbed my camera and took a photo. And that's them on the picture both wearing black shirts.

Showcasing his handwritten name & plaits

This was yesterday when his big brother and big sister were doing their homework. He often asks for her own homework too. So we told him that he should practise more of his writing since he is going to school pretty much soon. I don't tend to push my kids so much to the point where they end up hating learning. Whenever they in the mood I take advantage of it. So, here is my 4 yrs old showcasing his written name. I've only given him example as you can see above the paper and he just copied it. I'm really proud...

And oh, how do you like his plaits? I think it suits him, hehe. He was not happy when everyone said he looks like a girl.
